Chispy is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the poorest slum of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. He shares a double bed with the rest of his family and doesn't go to school. It's early outside and Chispy wakes up to go surfing. He travels to Tayrona in order to reach his waves.

The Volcom Brand Jeans Tour recently headed South navigating it's way to Costa Rica and Colombia with David Gonzalez, Luan Oliveira, David Gravette and Collin Provost on board. Our first leg of the tour in Costa Rica went off without a hitch. It actually caught us a little off guard at the excitement and size of the massive crowds that followed us from each event.

Find it hardly surprising that large crowds are showing for this tour. In today’s digital world, answering the questions associated with an event, who, what and where, has rapidly evolved to build a following of enthusiasts in even the least likely of places. Testament to the world growth of the action sports lifestyle…Doesn’t hurt that many of the skaters are of Latin heritage.
