Man, this is a really well done short film highlighting the town Barra de la Cruz and the impact of surfing...

This film has transformed from a simple short for the web into both an introduction and inspiration to a much bigger and deeper project: The Water's Edge Project.

Capítulo de Piel Concreto grabado en Mazatlán

Second episode of the Vans MX documentary 'Piel Concreto' exploring the growth of the skateboarding in Mexico. Tony Alva makes an appearance and reinforces the surf+music connection.

Still, I'm fairly surprised by the fact that very little is known overall about the evolution of surfing in the country, especially considering how many accessible breaks are found there.

Primer capítulo del Tour Piel Concreto, grabado en la ciudad de Monterrey.

Vans Mexico is doing an interesting little documentary on the country's skate scene via Piel Concreto. It will be intriguing to see how different, or similar, they are from one another in the southwest part of the United States. One thing I already noticed is that the drug gang violence has already sped up the construction of skate parks...The sport will only grow as a result of this social trend.

FIX TO RIDE is a skate documentary by Converse Skate Brazil. The idea behind it is to follow the restoration of key skate spots. Due to a lack of public funding many parks were become un-skateable. Efforts to preserve skate venues is what this is all about. An interesting case where we have a private entity stepping in and promoting themselves well within the public space, especially considering the burgeoning Brazilian youth market is poised to explode. If it hasn't already...
