Very interesting to see L.A. urban architectural features making an appearance at the local hill. Gotta think its a small, but, significant act to connect with the urban audience of SoCal. AgaSoin, skate bleeds into snow.

Mountain High is proud to announce four new “Los Angeles Features” which will be introduced to their terrain park for the 2011/12 winter season. The Concert Hall Handrail is the first of the four features to be completed. This massive down-flat-down staircase handrail combo is an exact replica of this iconic concert hall rail in Los Angeles and will be a centerpiece of Mountain High’s terrain park this coming season.

Defining what is now the new southern California mainstream...

Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Mister Cartoon (born Mark Machado) has become famous over the years for his many designs that range from sign painting and graffiti, to automobile murals and magazine illustrations. A master of the ink and needle, his client list includes a wide variety of celebrities like Dr. Dre, Travis Barker, 50 Cent, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce. For its “Art in the Streets” exhibition, the MOCA has chosen to display several pieces that are comprehensive of his work like a tagged hood and an airbrushed ice cream truck.

Just last week, I noted the significance of the grassroots snowboard movement. Ironically, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour was specifically mentioned for its role in developing athletes.

Today I saw that Jamie Madrid won Women's Slopestyle at Mountain High over the weekend. Just goes to show that the first wave of M.A.S. snowboarders has already descended down the hill...
