The new 'adidas is all in' campaign has been launched and its a great example of the mash-up world we live in today. A place where everything is merging, and the lines are blurring. ER: Cross-Cultural 'Nike Captures East Coast Snowboard Trip' via @radcollector

Watched this Nike clip over the weekend, and I gotta say its really good. It captures what its like to leave the city to hit the mountain. A testament to why Nike is a leader in urban lifestyle marketing, particularly snowboarding. They are being different and innovative. This short is lifestyle mashup of sport and culture that captures the emotional appeal of going riding for a day. There were images that took me to my teen years, where leaving the DC suburbs for the lifts of southern Pennsylvania was so meaningful.

When I saw this clip it made me really excited about snowboarding this season. Perhaps it’s the music with the flow of the video. Or maybe it’s the ritual leaving the city butt ass early in the morning to head up to a mountain with your fellow snowboarders. We snowboarders in NYC know how lucky we are. It’s not out west, but at least we can do it. I haven’t hit the hill in NY yet, but will do so this weekend at Snow Summit in California. Enjoy the weekend.

It has been really amazing to see Nike, a brand not really considered core for many years, leading the charge in growing the sport of snowboarding. They are aggressively engaging with the urban youth market, and it's why the Nike bottom line is being affected. Gotta believe the Nike Stadium platform is going to produce some interesting long term results for the brand.
